Holiday Films

Written for Sunday Scribblings

An antidote to cold December nights – make some popcorn and watch a Christmas film!

Here are ten of my favorites (not necessarily in this order and I’ve probably forgotten a couple that should be on this list!):

  1.  The Bishop’s Wife
  2.  Family Man
  3.  While You Were Sleeping
  4.  The Year Without a Santa Claus (1974)
  5.  Jack Frost (1998)
  6.  Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
  7.  How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  8.  It’s a Wonderful Life
  9.  The Holiday
10.  A Charlie Brown Christmas

So, what am I missing?

  1. ‘Holiday’ is one I watch every year. I love Christmas , Christmas movies and Christms fare. Thanks for the list.

  2. If you have ‘Charlie Brown’ nothing is missing – it never fails to get me sobbing like a five year old..Jae (oh my, now I’m thinking of the little tree and welling up)

  3. For me it is “The Last Unicorn” (always leaves me sobbing) and “The Wizard of Oz”.

  4. She’s a practical girl–She wants to be taken care of.

    Thanks for the laugh!

  5. Oh, Faith! I am thrilled to see you have The Bishop’s Wife at the top of your list! That is an all-time favorite of mine, and so many people seem to have never heard of it! Definitely a beautiful classic, and lots of humor, too! In fact, I love just about every movie you’ve listed. How about “White Christmas”? Oh, and speaking of a “holiday” movie…have you ever seen “Last Holiday” with Queen Latifah? It is so cute! Heartwarming, funny. I love it,too! Just call me corny! 🙂

    • Who can resist Cary Grant?! I don’t remember either of these movies. I’ll try to watch them this year! Thanks for the suggestions and the visit! 🙂

  6. Lovely choice for the season!! Love Jack Frost,Rudolph, Grinch and good old Charlie Brown 🙂

Have a great start to a grand festive season!!

  7. If you want to find out what you are missing, visit my friend Thom and I. We are doing a 12 Days of Christmas giveaway and to enter the daily drawing you have to correctly guess the day’s Christmas movie quote!

  8. Frosty the Snowman is a classic!

  9. You are missing The Sure Thing 🙂
